Your privacy.
Tattoo Finder connects customers and artists through discovery, private conversations, and appointments. Big Bwain LLC operates the service. Your appointment is confirmed independently of payment.
Payments and payment information
Stripe processes artist deposits and Tattoo Finder's $5.99 customer booking fee through hosted checkout. The remaining tattoo balance is arranged with your artist. Review the amounts and terms before paying.
For live payments accepted under the current refund policy, customer cancellation before the appointment starts returns the full paid deposit and booking fee. Artist cancellation returns both. A requested refund remains pending until the payment provider confirms it. Earlier test or simulated appointments retain their accepted terms.
Stripe processes the card information you enter and artist identity and payout information entered in its hosted onboarding. Tattoo Finder stores provider account and payment identifiers, amounts, status, receipts and refund history for reconciliation. Tattoo Finder does not store full card numbers or bank account details.
Information you provide
Accounts use your name, email, sign-in details, and confirmation that you are 18 or older. Google or Apple sign-in provides an account identifier and available profile information, such as your email, name, or Google profile photo. Signing in does not verify your age.
We store artist profiles, studio locations, artwork, flash designs, specials, favorites, saved searches, notification preferences, private messages and attachments, offers, appointments, cancellation policies, payment attempts, receipts, refund records, reviews, and support reports. An optional search location helps find nearby artists.
Artist profiles and published artwork, flash, specials, and reviews are public. Artist profiles can publish immediately after the required attestations. Newly uploaded images wait for administrator safety review before other users can view them.
Before each new image upload, you acknowledge that an authorized Tattoo Finder administrator can view it for safety review, including a private reference image that has not been sent. You can preview your own pending image. An approved public portfolio image may become public; an approved private image is shared with the conversation participants only after you choose to send it. Rejected images cannot be published or sent. Approval never sends your draft automatically.
Existing images are outside this new-upload gate; no retroactive review is implied. Ordinary private attachments remain participant-authorized. Moderators can also inspect private evidence tied to a support report. Image review does not verify authorship, identity or licensing.
Optional permissions and calendars
Location and photo access are used when you choose a nearby search or select an image. You can decline those permissions and keep browsing. Device calendar access can be changed in your phone settings.
Connecting Google Calendar is optional and requires separate consent. We store protected Google access and refresh tokens on our server to maintain your connection, along with selected calendar identifiers, imported busy intervals and appointment-mirror records. Calendar names are shown so you can choose which calendars to use. Outside event titles and notes are not imported. Microsoft Azure hosts the service and database; Google processes requests to its Calendar service.
We use this connection for availability and your Tattoo Finder appointment calendar. We create a separate “Tattoo Finder appointments” calendar and add, update or remove its app-owned events. Exports contain a generic appointment title, start/end time and time zone, booking location, a link to the authenticated appointment page, and internal ownership/version identifiers. We do not write to or delete the outside calendars you selected. Outside changes to an app-owned event can flag a conflict; they do not change the confirmed appointment in Tattoo Finder.
Disconnecting in Tattoo Finder stops synchronization and clears stored Google tokens, selected calendar identifiers and imported busy intervals. It does not revoke Google's permission grant or remove the exported Google calendar/events. You can revoke access with Google. Account deletion queues cleanup of the app-created calendar and grant; missing or revoked access and provider failures may prevent that cleanup and require manual removal. Accepted appointment, policy and financial history, and evidence needed for unresolved appointments, refunds, disputes or reports, may remain under the deletion disclosures below. There is no fixed automatic deletion period promised for retained history. Contact support@bigbwain.com for a privacy request or help with incomplete cleanup.
Tattoo Finder's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How the information is used
We use this information to operate accounts, discovery, messaging, appointments, availability, reminders, saved-search alerts, and moderation. Service and security records support troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
Basic server text screening blocks a limited set of prohibited terms before new content is saved. It does not understand every meaning or language, classify images or guarantee that all violations are detected. New images receive human safety review; reports, blocking and support remain available.
Microsoft Azure hosts the service, database, and uploaded images, and supplies the configured email service. Google and Apple process their sign-in, calendar, and push services when used. Push notifications use generic text; opening one requires access to the private resource.
The service uses HTTPS, restricted media access, and account authorization. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Browser sign-in uses cookies, and mobile sign-in credentials are held in secure device storage.
Your choices
Use Notification preferences to change push, email, reminders, and saved-search alerts. Account-security emails, such as a requested verification or password reset, are handled separately. You can remove saved items, disconnect calendars, block contact, and submit a private report.
Deletion and retained history
Deleting your account revokes sign-in, removes your public artist profile, clears saved items and preferences, and replaces account identity details with a deleted-account identity. Active appointments are canceled under the customer or artist cancellation rules.
Your own messages, reviews, flash and special descriptions, reschedule notes and resolved-report text are removed or redacted unless an unresolved appointment, payment, refund, dispute or open report needs that evidence. Other people's text and accepted offer, appointment, policy and financial history remain. Retained text may still contain personal information.
Images needed for unresolved evidence are hidden from public and participant access and retained for authorized report review. They are not queued for storage removal while held. Resolving a case does not automatically erase retained evidence; contact support with a privacy request.
Owned image removal and connected-provider cleanup run asynchronously. Provider failures or revoked access can require retries or manual removal of app-added calendar events. Account deletion does not promise an immediate purge or apply a fixed automatic deletion period to retained history.
